Today was a big day! Today Dr. Kate, Dee and myself did a presentation on veterinary medicine with a group of kids at a local community center. Not only was it the three of us, but Dr. Kate brought her cat, Frankie and Dee and I brought Chloe to demonstrate what it is that we do when we do exams and such. We even did some role playing with Dee being the Client, a volunteer being an Assistant, me being the Tech and Chloe being, of all things, a boy dog with a testicular tumor! SHE WAS FANTASTIC!!! It was a blast!!! The kids were all highly inquisitive, with some great questions and very excited. Chloe got a great deal of attention and really seemed to enjoy being around all the kids. She even managed to make a few friends and win over a few hearts that were initially affraid of her. Over all... something you can walk away feeling really good about.
In 05 I had decided to come back to FL, it's a place that can make things happen, and I seriously needed to rediscover myself. Ultimately I would end up reinventing myself. I took a much needed detour to Michigan to see my Dad... Dad and I have come a long way. He's my Best Friend... he's also very ill, has been for the past 13 or so years. He has a growing list a of debilitating ailments that has left him bound to the confines of a large comfy chair. Before I departed Dad, I bought two laptops and a Nikon D70 Digital SLR camera. I told him to, "stay tuned". So with my camera I set out to show Dad my world... or at least how I precieved it. When I made it to FL I set up a Blog and went nuts taking pictures and posting them for Dad. I took a about six months off when I got here, learned how my camera worked and took it with me everywhere. People I would meet along the way would often ask, "What do you do here in FL?" and I would simply reply, "I'm a photographer". Within five months of getting that camera, I became a professional photographer. That Blog turned into another one and then another...(Dad is a big Beach and Sky fan) I have six Photo Blogs now and Adobe Showcases
